Sisterhood Leadership Retreat | Carol Lund, BTG Director

A cold, February weekend didn’t stop almost 300 women from traveling to Lake Geneva Christian Center for a powerful time of training, coaching, idea-sharing, connecting, and having fun with leaders from across MN.

Of those who answered the pre-event survey, approximately…

• 20% were under 30 years old
• 42% were between ages 31-45
• 23% were between ages 46-55
• 15% were 56 years old and older

The audience included women in the church world (approx. 44%), in the business world (approx. 12%), in both worlds (approx. 27%), and those preparing to be future organizational leaders (approx. 17%). Bridging the Gap (BTG) events are open to all women, and 30% of Sisterhood Leadership Retreat attendees had never been to a BTG event before.

This year’s featured speaker, Carolyn Haas, challenged leaders to decide which father— Father God or the father of this world—to

listen to and believe daily. She shared a compelling testimony of God’s provision, care, and timing. As a young child, one of Carolyn’s daughters asked if she would be getting a new coat that winter. Little did her daughter know, Carolyn had not only purchased a coat and had it stored away in a “future box,” but the coat was beautiful and more than her daughter could have imagined. Likewise, our good and faithful Father knows our needs before we ask Him, and He knows the seasons when they will best fit us.

Within the two main sessions, BTG presented a soft launch for the Rwanda Challenge 2019/2020. (Be on the lookout for more information on this missional project!) Seventeen workshop speakers prepared leadership-based sessions, including topics on conflict and time management. Guests also experienced a fun Sisterhood Party with networking, food, and a fashion show.

Save the dates for the 2020 Sisterhood Leadership Retreat on February 28-29. God is encouraging and developing women leaders, and the best is yet to come for MN!
