Men’s Advance | Mark Lerom, Men’s Ministry Director

In Colossians 1:28 the apostle Paul wrote, “…that we may present all men mature in Christ.” The Vision for Men’s Ministry in the MN District is to build mature men – men who reject passivity, accept responsibility, lead courageously, and invest eternally.

This past March was a great opportunity to build mature men at Men’s Advance. Nearly 700 men from across the District came to Lake Geneva Christian Center (LGCC). The theme this year was “Setting Your Course – How to navigate life’s journey.”

Scott Hagan, President of North Central University, was the keynote speaker. President Hagan challenged, motivated, and equipped the men to respond to the call of God on their lives and many did! Friday night the guys flooded the altar to surrender their lives to Jesus. Many men were healed and also baptized in the Holy Spirit. The presence of God was so powerful in that place!

“I believe the men were challenged to go forward and go deeper with the Lord as they lead their families and step up to help lead in the local church.” – Mark Lerom

Men also had access to 12 breakout sessions, which covered a broad range of topics, including why work matters, how to study the Bible, spiritual warfare, & raising up the next generation.

Jeff Deyo and his band led the men in dynamic, heartfelt worship. As always, Micah MacDonald energized and challenged the guys as the emcee. A special thanks to all the speakers, the band, and the Men’s Advance Team, who did an awesome job “setting the table” for men and God to meet.

Men’s Advance is only one weekend out of the year, yet it serves as a launching pad for greater things. I believe the men were challenged to go forward and go deeper with the Lord as they lead their families and step up to help lead in the local church. It is my hope and prayer that men left feeling engaged, equipped, and encouraged to lead lives of purpose, passion and power.

Next year Men’s Advance will be March 27- 28, 2020 at LGCC. The theme will be “Living a Legacy,” with Micah MacDonald sharing as the keynote speaker.
