Forever Church | Pastor Dan & Amanda Juul | By Jessica Beamond, MDC Communications Director

A year before Forever Church opened in Plymouth, Dan and Amanda Juul drove through the western Twin Cities, praying for their God-given location to plant a church.

Plymouth increasingly stood out. As they explored the area, they pulled into the parking lot of Wayzata High School and looked at a building they had no reason to think would ever become their church home.

But God spoke to them: this was where their church would be. The story, however, began long before Plymouth.

Dan and Amanda met and began dating in high school. Dan grew up attending Cedar Valley Church, and Amanda also began attending there while in high school. As a teenager, Dan struggled to believe God was real. Carrying deep hurt from childhood, he battled depression and nearly took his own life in ninth grade.

Three months later, at Lake Geneva Christian Center, Reggie Dabbs preached about bondage, including depression and suicide. Dan stood when Dabbs invited anyone who wanted freedom to respond, a moment that changed his life.

“I didn’t have a head problem. I had a heart problem,” Dan said. “God resolved my head problem by reaching my heart.”

Afterward, his youth pastor discipled him and taught him to read Scripture. Dan went all in, eventually starting a Christian metal band and sharing short messages about Christ between songs at venues where many would never enter a church.

Ministry became part of Dan and Amanda’s story together. Amanda later served with Chi Alpha at the University of St. Thomas while Dan built a corporate career.

Years later, after seasons of ministry, Dan and Amanda began recognizing something God placed in them all along: they were called to plant a church.

That call brought them to Plymouth, and the building they once prayed over from the parking lot soon became a real possibility.

They learned that Eagle Brook, which was holding Sunday services there at the time, planned to leave around the same time Forever Church hoped to launch. Then came another surprise: Eagle Brook donated much of the campus equipment to Forever Church. This included LED walls, lighting, audio and technology systems, and children’s ministry resources, altogether valued at hundreds of thousands of dollars.

For Dan and Amanda, it was another reminder of a lesson God had been teaching them for years. “He is our source,” Amanda said.

Forever Church officially launched on October 19, 2025, with about 175 people on the launch team and nearly 690 attending the first service. During its first year, more than 400 people have made decisions for Christ, and nearly 60 have been baptized.

For those carrying a God-given dream that may seem too large, Dan offers this encouragement: “Do not let anybody talk you out of dreaming big.”
