2nd Half Ministries Fall Retreat  |  Bruce Talso, 2nd Half Director

Minnesota seniors from around the state gathered at Lake Geneva Christian Center, September 8- 10 for their annual fall retreat. It was an opportunity to renew friendships and enjoy inspirational music and preaching.

Our opening night featured the musical ministry of Dan and Sandy Adler of Heart of the City Ministries. Our speakers were Drs. Paul and Carol Alexander of Trinity Bible College in Ellendale ND, and Dan and Marlene Turner led us in praise and worship.

Three breakout sessions were presented. Darrel Amiot and Paul Freitag discussed proper health documents for end-of-life scenarios, including protection of assets. The second breakout session was presented by Ben Mason of the Legacy Grandparenting Ministry. This fairly new national ministry is dedicated to equipping grandparents in local churches to support their grandchildren in practical ways. MN 2nd Half Ministry will be supporting this endeavor. The third breakout session; “From Mourning to Morning” was presented by Harold Kamppi and Linda Enno to encourage those who have recently lost a spouse. During the Saturday morning “Missions Moment’ Wes and Nancy Vagle shared the ministry of RV MAPS (now Church Mobilization).

We received many favorable comments from those who attended this year’s retreat, which included 20-30 first time attenders. Our 2023 fall retreat will be held September 7-9. Martha Tennison will be our speaker along with her son Allen. Put it on your calendar!

Our Seniors on the Go – Branson Christmas Tour event is coming up on November 9-14, 2022. Registration forms and more information are available online at mnaog.org/2ndhalf.
