The Minnesota School of Ministry (MNSOM) held its sixth annual Propel Internship Summit on July 10-11 at Celebration Church in Lakeville. For the past six years, MNSOM has hosted the Propel Summit as an additional opportunity for students to grow in ministerial experience as they pursue credentials.
While interns typically shadow their mentors throughout the internship process, the summit is designed to enrich those experiences. It offers in-depth teaching in ten different areas of ministry, facilitates the exchange of best practices across the state, and delivers hands-on, practical instruction. Propel also provides a comprehensive resource guide, both in print and in a digital library in both English and Spanish. The event also enables students to network with their peers, ask questions, and receive personal encouragement and insight from experienced ministry leaders.
Minnesota District ministers played a key role in the summit by generously sharing their expertise and investing in the next wave of ministry leaders. Their commitment cultivates a strong culture of leadership development in the MN District. Students were encouraged to bring their spouses, mentors, or pastors as guests. This year, in addition to our host pastor, Derrick Ross, we were blessed to have Rick Ross, General Treasurer of the Assemblies of God, come, encourage, and pray for the 55 individuals who attended the event.
The Propel Internship Summit is the first of its kind among the 40 Assemblies of God District Schools of Ministry. To date, seven other District Schools of Ministry across the nation have attended the summit to explore how they might replicate the summit model within their own Districts or Networks.
