There is a lot of excitement buzzing in the Minnesota District this January, especially when it comes to missions’ giving. Every January, numbers are collected and presented from the previous year. Already, 2023 has proven to be a record-breaking year, and no small part of that is the amazing things that are going on with BGMC!

The Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge is a ministry centered around teaching children about their brothers and sisters around the world in need of the gospel message. Best of all, each child’s training is accompanied by an opportunity for them to respond to the Great Commission through BGMC. Pastor Chris Pruett, Childrens Ministry Director, wrote this in response to BGMC’s record-breaking year:

“Thanks so much for helping your kids cultivate a heart of compassion and generosity through BGMC. God is doing something special throughout our state. Our kids are finding new ways to raise funds for missions. One church in Fergus Falls spent hours packing custom hot chocolate bags to sell for missions. They handed out order forms to people to sell the $10 bags of hot chocolate. Seven kids took this challenge seriously from their kids’ church as they prayed and got to work. In two weeks, these seven elementary students raised over $1,603 for missions!

We are hearing stories of kids baking, raking, mowing, and going anywhere the Lord leads them to build His Kingdom. Our MN kids’ pastors have led the charge, as we finished second in the nation in BGMC giving and have broken our previous record of $493,000! This year, our kids have raised $816,497.39 for BGMC. We are humbled and challenged by their faith and effort. To God be the Glory!

Thanks for casting vision to kids…they are capable of big things for Jesus!”

The ceiling is never too high for the Minnesota Childrens Ministry. Every day, new stories are being told, and new testimonies are blessing others. Praise the Lord for an incredible 2023 as we pray for and look forward to an even better future.
