Miracles happen when God’s people come “Together as One!” It has been awe-inspiring to see what God is doing in missions throughout Minnesota! Pastor Mark Dean has a vision to send 1,000 missionaries from Minnesota, and our current numbers are rising.

Our district is one of the highest-giving districts in America and Minnesota kids and teenagers have been stirred to raise record-breaking funds for BGMC and STL. Highlights like these are only a few of the Kingdom miracles happening in our midst.

Bridging the Gap (BTG) is also tenaciously engaged in missions. In 2019, Africa’s Hope (africashope.org) invited BTG to be a part of a ground-breaking project called the Rwanda Challenge.

The Rwanda Challenge goal is to see the women of Minnesota raise $140,000 to help fund the translation and printing of discipleship materials into Kinyarwanda—the heart language of the Rwandan people. This seven year curriculum will be available to all church denominations across Rwanda.

This initiative is coupled with a mission trip to Rwanda in March 2020. The purpose of the trip is to coordinate and lead a large, two-day women’s ministry and leadership conference. Members of our team will be speaking, teaching breakout sessions, leading worship, and serving on the prayer team.

In November we were blessed by a visit from AGWM missionary, Julia Lowenberg. She serves as overseer of the entire Rwanda Challenge translation project. Julia shared the heart of the Rwanda Challenge: “After the Genocide happened across Rwanda, we realized Christianity had been there, but people were Christian in name, not in practice. In order for true heart transformation to occur, [Christians need] to be discipled in their own language. The Church is being persecuted right now, so there is all the more reason for believers to be discipled.”
