The Minnesota District is celebrating a record-breaking year, with 150 candidates, both new and upgrading, working toward receiving their ministerial credentials. This milestone reflects the growing dedication and commitment of individuals who are answering the call to ministry within the Assemblies of God fellowship.

To qualify for ministerial credentials, candidates must meet specific requirements that ensure their alignment with the values and standards of the fellowship. These include agreement with Scriptural teachings and the Assemblies of God 16 Fundamental Truths, a strong commitment to Christian beliefs and behavior, a dedication to serve as an effective Christian witness, and a willingness to uphold the principles of church ministry. In addition, candidates must demonstrate the necessary educational qualifications to support their calling.

These educational qualifications may include college-level undergrad classes, or those taken at the Minnesota School of Ministry, or another accredited ministry training institution.  After fulfilling these classroom requirements, candidates must take and pass tests demonstrating a proficiency in understanding the Bible and Assembly of God doctrines.  The credentialing process ultimately includes a ministry internship, and references are eventually required from multiple sources.  In the Minnesota District, the final preparatory step is the Credentialing Seminar and being interviewed by multiple presbyters.  Finally, after the candidate’s file is approved by General Council, the process is complete with the Credentialing Service at the Minnesota A/G District Council. Each candidate is individually presented during this service, and the Ordained, Licensed, and Certified Ministers are prayed over.  It’s an incredible celebration!

As the Minnesota District continues to expand, this record-setting number of candidates serves as a testament to the vibrant spiritual growth happening within our district. The commitment of these individuals to their faith and ministry reflects the ongoing mission to reach and serve others in the name of Christ. As they embark on this new chapter in their calling, they are not only fulfilling their own spiritual journey but also contributing to the wider mission of the Assemblies of God.
