MN School of Ministry | Pam Lund
Every summer, the General Council of the Assemblies of God (AG) issues the results of an annual study identifying the AG learning institutions that result in the largest number of credentialed ministers. The study categorizes learning institutions into three categories: universities such as North Central University (NCU), the District Schools of Ministry (DSOM), in which Minnesota School of Ministry (MNSOM) is a member, and self-study institutes such as Berean. This year’s results showed that out of the 39 DSOM schools, MNSOM had the most students receiving AG credentials. MNSOM remains the largest DSOM in the United States, currently shepherding approximately 350 students who aim to qualify for AG credentials. Yearly, MNSOM accounts for over one third of those receiving AG credentials, growing in students annually.

What is fueling the year-to-year growth? First and foremost, God’s Spirit is stirring and calling His Minnesotans to various people groups and unique settings throughout our state and worldwide. The Minnesota District has prayed to expand the reach for missions, and God has responded. Students are responding to God’s call to chaplaincy in the workplace, cancer wards, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers. They also minister to first responders, in prisons, and in education.

MNSOM is committed to assisting God’s people in fulfilling His call to vocational ministry with three distinct factors: convenient locations, affordability, and relationships. The Minnesota District is blessed with highly talented college professors, district officials, and other ministers who are passionate about teaching and investing in the next generation of ministers. Pam Lund, Director of MNSOM, who also serves on the executive leadership for DSOM, reports that “students thrive and truly benefit from face-to-face interactions with instructors and fellow students—many forging ministry relationships and friendships for life.”
