2026 AIM | By Communications Department
Since 1977, Ambassadors in Missions has been helping students discover that missions is not just something they can support from a distance, but something they can personally step into.
AIM began with a trip to Nicaragua nearly 50 years ago. Since then, it has continued sending students and leaders around Minnesota, across the United States, and throughout the world with one clear mission: mobilizing students in missions.
In 2026, Minnesota AIM is sending 18 teams to serve through a variety of ministry opportunities. Some students will participate in 72-hour trips, partnering with ministries across the state of Minnesota. Others will travel on USA trips, serving alongside ministries in communities across the country. International teams will work with missionaries and ministries around the world, helping students see firsthand what God is doing beyond their own context.
AIM also offers Passion Trips, which allow students to use specific gifts and interests for the sake of the gospel. Through LiveDead and Venture trips, students help reach unreached areas of the world. Clean water teams partner with WorldServe to help provide access to clean water. A student rock band, led by a worship pastor, leads worship at an Assemblies of God teen camp in Wisconsin. Anti-human trafficking teams serve at a safe house for rescued women. ES Sports teams, which began in 2010, use soccer and basketball as a bridge to share the gospel. Art teams use their creative gifts to paint murals that enhance and bless local ministries.
The impact of these trips continues long after students return home. Bobby Loukinen, MN AIM Director, said, “Each year, AIM asks students and leaders to complete an exit survey reflecting on their experience. Last year, 94 percent of students said they grew spiritually through their trip.”
The ministry fruit has also been significant. AIM teams saw 1,173 salvations, 12 healings, 33 students called into full-time ministry, 13 students called into full-time missions, and two adults called into full-time missions.
Through AIM, students are not only serving others. They are being shaped, called, and mobilized to live on mission wherever God leads them.
