“Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention.” – Mark Batterson.
For Brent Silkey, founder of 30 for Freedom, that dream is to carry the message of freedom in Jesus to the world. This November 15–21, 2025, that vision becomes reality through The Great World Race, seven marathons on seven continents in seven days, raising $500,000 to rescue victims and survivors of sex trafficking. Brent shared, “The Great World Race is the most grueling endurance event on the planet, as runners tackle 26.2 miles on all seven continents within a 168-hour period. Starting in Antarctica, athletes will face the most extreme elements to complete this 183.4-mile race.”
The route continues through South Africa, Australia, the UAE, Portugal, Colombia, and finishes in Miami, Florida. Brent will be joined by Paul Hurckman, Jacky Hunt-Broersma, and Ellie Romnes, with videographer Ben Hegi capturing every step. Each mile is a declaration that hope is stronger than darkness.
Students are joining the mission through The Unreal Challenge, raising $400 each to rescue one girl from trafficking. Partner brand UNRL is also launching a Hoodie Drop with 30 for Freedom, donating 100% of proceeds to the cause and sharing daily updates during race week. Check out unrl.com during the week of the race to pre-order the hoodie. The Silkey family’s goal is to raise $100,000 by offering their time, talents, and resources.
Please pray for strength, safety, and God’s presence over the runners and their families. Pray for hearts to be opened, captives to be set free, and global awareness to be raised. To get race updates, follow @brentsilkey or @30forFreedom. Support the mission by visiting 30forFreedom.org.
