1000 Sisters | BTG Missions

The annual Bridging the Gap (BTG) Garden Coffee event took place towards the conclusion of Family Camp on Saturday, July 5. It featured a missionary speaker, with Steph Peterson serving as emcee. This gathering of 400+ women is the highlight of the year for 1000 Sisters – a group of women committed to giving a recurring minimum gift of $10/month or $120/year.

In 2021, at her last Garden Coffee as the Director of BTG, Carol Lund launched 1000 Sisters with the mission of blessing and equipping Minnesota missionaries when they return to the US for itineration. This year’s offering was $9327.54, nearly triple the amount from 2024. Also, 30 new women joined the 1000 Sisters community.

These faithful women make it possible for BTG to give every MN career missionary $1500 when they return to itinerate. Since 2021, $40,000 has been distributed. It is a tangible “welcome home” to these families to help with the many expenses of setting up their stateside home, and purchase everything from furniture to winter boots.

The joy in the room this year was palpable as women worshiped, prayed, and caught the heart of the mission. The Garden Coffee and 1000 Sisters reflect BTG’s theme verse, Ephesians 3:20 (NLT): “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” God is indeed multiplying the impact of this ministry beyond what anyone could have imagined.

As 1000 Sisters continues to grow, our prayer and hope is that this generosity will open even greater doors to bless and encourage those who faithfully carry the gospel to the ends of the earth. If you are interested in learning more, go to mnbtg.org/1000sisters.
