Just over a week before Mother’s Day,
Bridging the Gap (BTG) was honored to offer
the 7th annual Single Moms Retreat (SMR) at
Lake Geneva Christian Center.
We were overjoyed as God brought
approximately 120 volunteers and exhibitors
and close to 50 car care workers to love
almost 400 single moms through this event.
Along with main and breakout sessions,
there were multiple giveaways and activities
including the following:
• Diva Boutique (pictured): 10,000+
pieces of clothing, jewelry, shoes, and
accessories
• Dream Library: 2,000 donated books
• Spa (provided by Willmar Assembly of
God): foot soak, nail painting, paraffin
hand wax, and hand massage stations
• Car Care: fluid and safety checks and
interior vacuuming for 147 vehicles and
over $7,000 in new tires and parts
• Painting classes for 100 women
• Girls Night Out Party: pizza, a DJ,
Zumba, rock climbing, The Bridge Shop
and exhibitor shopping, and more
• 5K/1 mile run/walk
We were also able to offer a car giveaway
(based on an application process) and a new
resource webpage (mnbtg.org/smresources)
for moms to access beyond the retreat.
The BTG prayer team listened, prayed with,
and guided many single moms to faith,
healing, and a deeper trust in Jesus Christ.
Everything we do continues to be about the
“one” individual.
The SMR could not have taken place without
the support of pastors, churches, and
