On June 2-3, 373 single moms came from across the upper Midwest to the 2017 Dare to Dream Single Moms Retreat – a weekend of relaxation, fun, and spiritually enriching opportunities. Throughout the retreat, God was at work to save and transform lives and future generations in miraculous ways! Here are a few of the attendees’ comments:
• “Thank you. Last year, I [was here, two days away from a scheduled abortion]. Today, my baby is four months old!“
• “We just feel so alone, because we are the only single moms wherever we go. It’s great to be in a place with more people who understand.”
• “I feel so valued!”
• One mom from Willmar came alone to last year’s retreat. Upon returning home, she asked her pastor if she could start a Bible study for single moms in her church.
Pastor Keith Kerstetter said, “Yes.” The results have been significant, and over 31 single moms came from Willmar to attend the retreat!
Thank you to our 168 “Befriender” volunteers. Thank you to those who were part of contributing 10,000 pieces of clothing, shoes, and accessory gifts. Thank you to Maranatha Church for sponsoring an extravagant spa. Thank you to the car care volunteers who serviced 115 cars, including replacing multiple sets of new tires, shocks, breaks, and one new engine.
