Welcoming DeeDee Lindelien as new Pastoral Care for MN
DeeDee Lindelien’s life is a testament to the power of faith, resilience, and the unwavering support of loved ones. DeeDee is the widow of Carl Lindelien, MDC’s Chaplain and Director of Pastoral Care for the past nine years until his passing in March of 2023.
DeeDee and Carl met when DeeDee was only 16 years old, and they were both on vacation at Disneyland. DeeDee traveled from New York, while Carl came from Minnesota. When they married, DeeDee joined Carl in Minnesota, and a few years later, she gave her life to the Lord and was baptized in the Holy Spirit. Once Carl also came to the Lord, their shared spiritual path became a cornerstone of their relationship. They were children’s pastors at multiple churches in 4 different states, and Carl was also the editor of Kids Church Curriculum for Charisma Magazine.
From 2007 to 2014, DeeDee and Carl faced some big trials, with Carl hospitalized an average of three months a year. DeeDee remained at his side as an advocate and supporter. In 2014, Carl was given a word from the Lord: “If you take any more fluids, you will die.” So, he refused any more fluids, and he experienced a miracle of healing.
After Carl’s healing, when Pastor Clarence St. John invited him into the Pastoral Care position, DeeDee was unsure what this meant for her. However, God reassured her that she was chosen to support Carl through this ministry as she had done in his other positions.
This spring, after Carl’s passing, DeeDee initially assumed her time in ministry was over. However, through the support of a loving community, financial blessings, and divine guidance, she has realized the journey is far from over! DeeDee has now accepted the call to continue the mission of Pastoral Care for MDC. Her journey continues, filled with hope, purpose, and an unwavering faith in God’s guidance.
