Single Moms Retreat Recap 2024
Bridging the Gap’s annual Single Moms Retreat had a beautiful weekend at Lake Geneva Christian Center May 31 and June 1, 2024. The theme was BOLD, inspired by Psalm 138:3 (NKJV), “In the day when I cried out, You answered me, and made me BOLD with strength in my soul.” It was a powerful weekend with speakers Lois Bret and David Simerson. Worship was led by Pastor Kali Alonzo. There were fourteen workshops, including overcoming past trauma, praying children into their destiny, and self-defense skills.
Friday afternoon’s free activities included car inspections/repairs, a Diva Boutique with 8,575 clothing items, haircuts, and spa services. Lois Bret kicked off Friday evening with an anointed message titled “Courage to Change” that ended with full altars and baptisms in the lake. The bonfire roared while women cheered for their friends, who took the next step in their faith.
Saturday morning began early with confetti cannons, 59 women running the one mile/5K race, and devotions with a bonfire by the lake. Pastor David Simerson shared a message: “Boldly Resilient.” Every lady in the room laughed at his storytelling and cried as they considered their value in God’s eyes. Pastor Lois concluded the day with the encouragement to have the “Courage to Lead.”
We believe the Single Moms Retreat not only affects those in attendance but also generations of children and grandchildren. Thank you to those who sowed generously in time and resources for this weekend of harvest!
Looking ahead to 2025, Micah MacDonald, Steph MacDonald, and Mykelti Blum will speak and lead worship for the Single Moms Retreat on June 6-7. Register now to volunteer or attend at mnbtg.org/retreat.
