There is so much excitement at the District Office each January as daily reports of missions giving come in from the previous year. In 2025, the totals climbed daily, and initial reports indicated record years for both Speed the Light and BGMC missions giving.
BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge) is vital to supporting our missionaries and keeping them on the field. Kids in Minnesota understand this vision and gave $688,396.78 to BGMC in 2025! They have been willing to Pray, Give, and Go as the Spirit has been leading. One church in our state felt discouraged, having only one child in Kids Church and giving nothing to missions in 2024. In 2025, they grew to eleven children and prayed, “God, please use us to help spread the Gospel.” They were ecstatic when they raised over $800 to support BGMC projects! Chris Pruett, KidMin Director, said, “Thanks for helping your kids build His Kingdom both locally and globally!”
Once again, Minnesota led the nation as the number one Speed the Light giving district, surpassing an extraordinary $2.5 million given to advance the gospel and support missions around the world. Phil Johnson, District Youth Director, said, “This achievement is not just a number—it represents countless acts of faith, prayer, and obedience from students who chose to say yes to God.”
Throughout the year, there were powerful stories of students stepping out in creativity, sacrifice, and courageous faith as they responded to God’s call. From bold, collaborative efforts like 30 for Freedom, Golfathon, and the Unreal Challenge, students united around a shared mission: to reach the lost and see lives changed through the power of the gospel. Every idea, every event, and every offering reflected a generation willing to give generously and trust God fully.
Phil added, “God moved through every sacrifice, every moment, and every yes. To God be the glory!”
