The first ever YA WKND happened May 14-16 at Lake Geneva Christian Center as 230 young adults, ages 18-30, and their leaders gathered from over 40 churches from across Minnesota.
This new event came together with just six weeks of lead time! Together with a team of local church young adult ministry leaders, Josiah and Micah Kennealy were believing for a weekend that would offer young adults from across the state of Minnesota breakthrough miracle power! There was no hype — just pure hunger to seek God and ask Him to move in incredibly powerful ways!
Steph MacDonald led worship and Micah MacDonald shared messages in the main sessions. On Friday night, Micah preached on “crying out” and we saw 26 young people cry out to receive salvation and surrender their lives to the Lordship of Jesus!
On Saturday morning, the Kennealys and MacDonalds tag-teamed a Q&A panel discussion on relationships. Micah and Josiah also did a pop-up “Worth the Wait Workshop” Saturday afternoon, talking about love, sex, dating, and waiting.
On Saturday night many young adults were baptized in the Holy Spirit, received a prayer language, and were given space to receive prophetic words for one another! Sunday morning was a time of practical teaching and instruction on wisdom with emphasis on the book of Proverbs.
It has been incredible to see so many churches launch young adult ministries this past year and remarkable to see the next generation lead. One group from Redeeming Love Church is brand new (started less than 3 months ago) and brought a crew of over 20 for the retreat. They believe this event helped them set the tone for a summer of opportunities!
Next year’s dates are May 13-15, 2022. To find out more about our MN Young Adult Ministry and to subscribe to the podcast, visit their website at: youngadults.today.
