MNSOM recently held its 5th-annual Propel Internship Summit on July 12-13 at Celebration Church in Lakeville. MNSOM has created an additional opportunity for students to grow in ministerial experiences as they pursue credentials. While interns shadow ministerial experiences with their mentors, this annual summit aims to enhance those experiences and provide a deeper dive into the practical side of ministry. This is done by providing teaching in ten different areas of ministry, sharing best practices across the state, offering hands-on practical information, and receiving a rich resource guide both in print and in a newly developed digital library for further information. God was faithful in supplying excellent Minnesota District ministers with a passion for and expertise in all ten areas of ministry. Students were encouraged to bring their spouses, mentors, or their pastors as guests. In total, there were 74 people in attendance. Additionally, this year, the summit was attended by the leadership of four other Schools of Ministry across the nation to learn how they can further invest in their prospective ministerial candidates for their Districts.
The Propel Internship Summit is the first in the country among the Assemblies of God’s thirty-eight District Schools of Ministry. We deliver the summit in English and with full audio translation in Spanish. Spanish interns also have translated written materials and resource guides. The future goal is also to produce conference translations and materials in French to accommodate a great deal of ministerial students immigrating from seventeen French-speaking countries around the world.
The ongoing growth and success of MNSOM are credited to the Minnesota District ministers across the state, who recognize God’s calling on people’s lives and connect them to MNSOM, teach our classes, and serve as mentors.
