Lund Hall | Lake Geneva Christian Center

The vision for Bridging the Gap’s (BTG) Bridge Shop at Lake Geneva Christian Center (LGCC) has always been mission-driven. The last 23 years have focused on a building initially funded by Gordy and Carol Lund. It included a retail shop (The Bridge Shop) in the front to raise money and Life Warehouse in the back, which held household items for missionaries to receive while home itinerating.

However, with age-graded camps regularly exceeding capacity at LGCC, MDC leadership looked (prayed) for creative housing options. Carol Lund, previous BTG Director, recalls, “During Family Camp two years ago, I talked with Kevin Gunion, LGCC Director. He said, ‘Youth Camps are packed out and the kids are still registering!’ I responded, ‘What a great problem to have!’ As I walked away, the Holy Spirit spoke quietly, ‘Go back and ask Kevin, how many campers could the Bridge Shop building house?’”

It was determined that the building could accommodate 80 beds, and the rest is history! With the blessing of the Lunds, the building has been transformed into Lund Hall, creating room for 640 more campers and leaders over the summer.

Angie Goetz, current BTG Director, shares: “I am thankful for the example of generous, kingdom-minded leaders like Gordy and Carol. Their intent with The Bridge Shop and Life Warehouse was to bless people in a variety of ways. Even though the building now looks different, the legacy of blessing others continues in a brand new way.”

Change is always good if it builds and edifies the Body of Christ and glorifies Jesus. As one season ends and another begins, this building continues its mission to reach future generations.
