Wells Assembly of God | Pastor Hilary & Dan Korynta

Pastor Hilary Korynta’s path to Wells Assembly of God is a testament to both her lifelong dedication and her deep-rooted faith. Hilary’s journey began in childhood, growing up in a believing family and attending Cornerstone Church in Austin. While those early years were steeped in church life, it wasn’t until she was fifteen, at Lake Geneva Christian Center, that she felt a profound call to vocational ministry.

Determined to follow this divine calling, Hilary pursued a degree in Youth Ministry at North Central University. Graduating in 2008, she began serving as the Youth Pastor at Wells Assembly of God. Her role evolved over the years, from Youth Pastor to Kid’s Pastor and eventually to Associate Pastor.

In 2021, Hilary stepped away from her pastoral role to become a stay-at-home mom. Their family continued attending Wells Assembly. However, both she and her husband, Dan, felt a renewed calling from the Lord. This led Hilary to interview for the lead pastoral position at Wells Assembly. Hilary was officially appointed as the lead pastor in February 2023. Under Hilary’s leadership, Wells Assembly is experiencing growth and transformation.

One notable interaction Hilary had occurred when a new member to the church said, “You know, I’ve never had a female pastor before!” Hilary responded, “You know, neither have I!” Hilary added, “We all laughed, and I just felt like it was such a wonderful highlight to the journey.”

Wells Assembly of God has been actively involved in local community events, such as town parades, Christmas celebrations, and potlucks. This summer, a notable development occurred when the local school’s superintendent approached Hilary with a request to partner with the church for an after-school program. This initiative highlights the church’s vibrant engagement and impact on the community.

Both Hilary and Dan remain deeply committed to their ministry at Wells Assembly. Hilary reflects on her journey with encouragement for fellow leaders regarding beginning a new role: “The enemy will try to instill a lot of fear. We had to go back to, ‘Do we feel called to do this?’ We had some really great encouragement from close friends, and we thought, ‘You know what? We’re going to do this.’” Hilary highlights the importance of remembering your calling and leaning on the support of those around you who are caring and encouraging.
